President Ruto storms Kajiado in a series of development tours

President William Ruto has today held a series of development tours in Kajiado county, in a bid to launch new projects and inspect the ongoing ones.

Speaking during the commissioning of Kiserian-Ongata Rongai Water Project in Gataka, Kajiado North constituency, the Head of state said the Kshs 1.3 billion investment will provide reliable and clean water for 180,000 people, improve livelihoods and enhance quality of life for surrounding communities.

He also launched the Kahara-Ngong road in the same constituency, a project worth Kshs 100 million, which is set to open up the suburbs of Ngong’ town, improve connectivity and make it easier for people to move goods and services.

The president’s itinerary also saw the launch of Ngong’ Stadium Loop Road to improve mobility within the town and boost business. “To permanently solve traffic congestion, we will build a bypass so that travellers from Nairobi and Suswa do not have to go through Ngong’ town and further upgrade the Karen-Ngong’-Kiserian-Ongata Rongai road into a dual carriageway.” He opined.

He also laid the foundation stone for Rongai modern market and inspected Gataka-Tumaini road which will link Gataka with Embulbul and Ongata Rongai. Upon completion, the road will be a gamechanger in easing transport and boosting investment in the area.

He also urged residents to reject every form of divisive politics that undermines the national development agenda. “We will continue working towards a united Kenya where every citizen and every community have an equal opportunity to benefit from our country’s progress.”
