From Kilgoris to Tanzania: Charlene Ruto’s Wedding Takes East Africa by Storm

Love knows no borders, and Charlene Ruto’s wedding celebrations are proving just that!

President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene, is making headlines as she prepares to celebrate her marriage to Tanzanian entrepreneur Isaya Yunge in Mwanza, Tanzania. The highly anticipated occasion has brought together two families, blending Kenyan and Tanzanian cultures in a celebration attracting considerable public attention.

But before the Tanzania celebrations, the couple had already given Kenyans a spectacular taste of tradition back in August.

On August 8, 2026, Charlene and Isaya held their colourful traditional Kalenjin Koito ceremony at the Ruto family’s Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County. The event was nothing short of spectacular, featuring traditional dances, cultural performances, elegant African outfits and an impressive guest list that included political leaders and dignitaries.

The ceremony formally brought the two families together, setting the stage for their next chapter.

Now, the celebrations have crossed the border to Tanzania, Isaya’s home country, where Mwanza is hosting the couple’s white wedding festivities.

From the traditional rhythms of Kilgoris to the excitement of Mwanza, Charlene’s wedding is more than a love story; it is a beautiful East African affair. Clearly, this is one wedding season that has kept social media talking.
