The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 1,000 paid internship opportunities under the Ministry of Education’s Digital Literacy Programme for graduates seeking to attain practical experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and digital education.

According to a notice by the commission on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, successful applicants will be appointed and deployed to schools at the sub-county level, where they will support digital learning, virtual learning as well as other technology-related education platforms. 

“The Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education has declared 1,000 internship vacancies under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5. Successful candidates will be appointed and deployed to schools at the sub-county level, where, in addition to acquiring practical skills and knowledge, interns will play a critical role in supporting virtual learning and other related digital platforms,” read part of the announcement.

Successful applicants will also support e-learning and content development in line with school schemes of work and provide classroom support while training primary school teachers on the use of digital literacy devices. Other responsibilities will include develop innovations aimed at improving the use digital learning in schools and promote the safe, secure and ethical use of technology in education.

The internship will run for 12 months and is non-renewable, with the interns receiving a monthly stipend by the State Department for Basic Education at a rate determined by the Government. Those who complete the programme will receive a certificate from the State Department of Basic Education.

Applicants must have graduated not earlier than 2022 and possess one of the following qualifications: a bachelor’s degree in education with a specialization in ICT, a bachelor’s degree in ICT, a diploma in ICT or Integration in Education.

Interested and qualified applicants are required to apply online via PSC’s recruitment portal, with applications closing on October 5, 2026.

The commission has further cautioned applicants against fraudsters demanding money in exchange for securing appointment, stating that there are no charges for application or appointment.
