President William Ruto has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring every Kenyan enjoys equal rights, opportunities and access to government services, regardless of their background, religion or region.

Speaking at State House, Nairobi, where he hosted more than 9,000 Muslim religious leaders from across the country, the President said his administration is working to build a government that reflects Kenya’s diversity and leaves no one behind.

Ruto highlighted several reforms, including ending discriminatory vetting during national ID issuance, opening passport centres in Mombasa and Garissa, establishing a Consulate General in Jeddah for pilgrims, beginning the creation of the Waqf Commission, and moving to formally recognise Madrasas and Duksis within the education system.

He also said the government is investing heavily in historically underserved regions such as Northern Kenya and the Coast to address past inequalities and expand economic opportunities.

Looking ahead, the President announced that Kenya is beginning an inclusive national conversation that will shape a National Development Charter, a roadmap he says will guide the country beyond Vision 2030 and towards becoming a first world economy.
