The Boxing Federation of Kenya (BFK) has selected 40 boxers to represent the country for the upcoming 2026 Africa Boxing Championship, which will take place at Kasarani Indoor Arena from October 12 to 28, 2026.
The squad brings together talented fighters from different weight categories, with both experienced boxers and promising newcomers expected to play a role in the campaign, marking an important step in the country’s preparations for the continental campaign.
The boxers have started their rigorous training sessions at the Mathare Police Depot, aiming to secure spots on the final team for the continental event. Their preparations will include physical conditioning, tactical drills, sparring sessions and mental preparation.
More than 20 countries are expected to participate in the championship, making the event a major boxing gathering and an important opportunity for Kenyan boxers to compete against some of Africa’s best talent. Strong performances could also help the athletes gain valuable international experience and improve their prospects in future competitions.
