Here’s How You Can Share Your Views on the Finance Bill 2025/26

The Kenyan government is now soliciting public feedback on the Finance Bill for the Financial Year 2025/2026 and the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework. It is a chance for Mwananchi to decide how to distribute national funds among vital sectors like health, education, youth empowerment, infrastructure, and job creation.

You can still voice your opinion online or in writing if you cannot make it to the public hearings that are planned in your county. Through a written memorandum, the National Assembly has enabled citizens to express their thoughts, ideas, and concerns.

The memorandum should be a brief, concise document that expresses your suggestions or concerns about any aspect of the proposed budget.  Emphasize your priorities, whether they are access to clean water, better schools, youth funding, affordable healthcare, or supporting small businesses in your community. Don't forget to include your name and contact information, or the name of your organization. After finishing, email your memo to cna@parliament.go.ke.

As an alternative, physically deliver it to: The Clerk, Main Parliament Buildings, Nairobi, and 1st Floor. The deadline for submission is 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
This process is based on Articles 118 and 221 of the Kenyan Constitution, which ensure that all citizens have the right to participate in the legislative and budgetary processes. By sharing your opinions, you're assisting in creating a national budget that takes into account the priorities and needs of your community.

The time to speak up is now don’t wait until it's too late to be heard. Contribute your opinions and join the push for a government that is more inclusive, responsive, and accountable. Your involvement counts.
