Kenya once again painted the streets of New York red, green, and black, sweeping both the men’s and women’s podiums at the 2025 TCS New York Marathon in a show of strength, unity, and pure athletic brilliance.
Six extraordinary Kenyans, Hellen Obiri, Sharon Lokedi, Sheila Chepkirui, Benson Kipruto, Alexander Mutiso, and Albert Korir, turned the marathon into a Kenyan victory parade.
The world watched in awe as Hellen Obiri clocked 2:19:51, setting a course record in the women’s race. Sharon Lokedi (2:20:07) and Sheila Chepkirui (2:20:24) followed close behind, sealing a historic all-Kenyan top three.
Moments later, the men mirrored that magic. Benson Kipruto stormed to victory in 2:08:09, narrowly ahead of Alexander Mutiso (2:08:25) and Albert Korir (2:08:57).
This wasn’t just about medals. It was about pride. About a nation whose heartbeat matches the cadence of its runners’ strides.
From the highlands of Kenya to the bridges of New York, Kenya once again proved: running is not just a sport; it’s our heritage. Congratulations to #TeamKenya
