President William Ruto has officially launched the KSh 170 billion Nairobi–Nakuru–Mau Summit and Nairobi–Maai Mahiu–Naivasha Project, marking a new chapter in Kenya’s road infrastructure.
The project will be developed under a Public–Private Partnership model led by China Road and Bridge Corporation and the National Social Security Fund.
The 175km Nairobi–Nakuru–Mau Summit Road and the 58km Nairobi–Maai Mahiu–Naivasha Road will be reconstructed into modern dual carriageways, delivering smoother travel, fewer accidents, and faster connectivity between Nairobi, the Rift Valley, and Western Kenya.
This corridor is the heartbeat of Kenya’s economy, serving millions of travelers and traders daily. For decades, congestion, breakdowns, and traffic delays have slowed progress. But now, this upgrade, a blend of innovation, partnership, and leadership, signals the end of that era.
The works begin immediately, as part of President Ruto’s promise to modernize key highways and ensure Kenya’s infrastructure keeps pace with its growing economy.
Beyond smoother travel, this project means jobs, efficiency, and renewed investor confidence. It’s not just a road, it’s a symbol of hard work, delivery, and progress.
