Rironi–Naivasha–Mau Summit Dualling to Begin November 28, 2025

Kenya is set to witness another historic leap in infrastructure development as the dualling of the 170km Rironi–Naivasha–Mau Summit Road officially begins on November 28, 2025. This ambitious project marks a major milestone in upgrading one of East Africa’s most critical transport arteries. The Northern Corridor connects Nairobi to Uganda, Congo, and other Central African countries.

The project will be implemented by China Roads and Bridges Corporation, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company, following high-level talks between Kenya’s leadership and President Zhang Bingman at State House, Nairobi.

Groundbreaking will also take place for the 58km Rironi–Maai Mahiu–Naivasha road, an extension that opens new trade frontiers in Kenya’s southern corridor. Once complete, this project will ease traffic congestion, boost regional trade, and enhance road safety, transforming Kenya’s transport landscape.

This project is part of a broader Kenya–China partnership that has already delivered the Standard Gauge Railway, Nairobi Expressway, and Talanta Sports City. Other major projects, including the railway extension to Kisumu and Malaba and the Galana Dam in Tana River County, are in the pipeline, cementing Kenya’s vision of a connected, modern, and prosperous nation.
